Demand of skilled manpower is increasing day by day in the country with the enormous growth of textile sub sectors. For successful operation of these enterprises there is need for more graduate textile technologists in the country. At present there is only one Textile Engineering College offering bachelor degree in textile engineering in the country, which is very insufficient to meet the present growing demand of graduate textile engineers. Under this circumstances Department of Textiles under the supervision of Ministry of Textiles & Jute has been taken measure to upgrade three existing Textile Institutes into Textile Colleges. Simultineously another institution named as Bangladesh Institute of Textile Technologist (BITT) is being started under the Department of Textiles very soon for the Textile Diploma holders only. All these Colleges are being implemented under the development projects.
