TEXTILE VOCATIONAL INSTITUTES
The rural Textile training Institute other
than District weaving schools established by the then Bengal
Govt. under British rule were peripatetic in nature. These
Institutes had been imparting primary level training with
rural unemployed youths in the field of handloom, silk, jute;
coir and wool based cottage Industries. After Independent
of Bangladesh one-year artisan course were introduced to these
Institutes. But with the present requirement of the Industry
these Institutes were upgraded to full-fledged Textile Vocational
Institute ( TVI ) and brought under the National Educational
Curriculum by introducing 2 years S.S.C Vocational Certificate
curriculum under Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Details
of these Textile Vocational Institutes are as below:
