Textile Engineering College is offering 4-years B.Sc. in Textile Engineering under the University of Chittagong with specialization in

a) Yarn Manufacturing Technology
b) Fabric Manufacturing Technology
c) Wet Processing Technology
d) Garments Manufacturing Technology
e) Fashion & Design Technology (Proposed)

The course is designed in such a way that it includes a sets of theoretical subjects, practical works, industrial training & viva-voce. It covers core and allied subjects.

FIRST YEAR
The first year syllabus consists of pure science in addition to some basic concepts of Textile Engineering. The subjects offered in the first year are as follows:

FOURTH YEAR
In the fourth or final year students have to choose a group of subjects for specialization. Subjects offered in fourth year are as follows :

In addition to the above subjects every student of final year has to perform a project work, industrial training for two months and to appear before a comprehensive viva-voce. Academic performance of the students should be evaluated by continuous assessment and annual theoretical & practical examinations.

General Admission Procedure and Entry Requirements

Admission to the Textile Engineering College is highly competitive and needs a high academic attainment at the S.S.C and H.S.C levels. Selection of the student for admission will made through admission test of 200 marks & GPA of S.S.C & H.S.C. Thus the students will be admitted on the basis of their merit.

Requirements for admission test are:
* Students must be Bangladeshi by birth.
* S.S.C. (Sc) or equivalent with GPA 3.5 (Excluding 4th sub.) from any Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education or equivalent (Not before 2004).
* H.S.C (Sc) or equivalent having GPA at least 3.5 (Excluding 4th sub.) and on an average at least GPA 4.00 & 4.25 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for the students passed in H.S.C Examination in 2007 & 2006 respectively.
* Students from GCE 'O' level must passed in at least 5 papers with minimum grade 'B' in average & GCE 'A' Level must have passed with grade 'B' in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.

Academic Year and Medium of Instruction

This course will cover 4 academic years, but in no cases it will be extended more then 6 years. The medium of Instruction shall be in English.
